Recently from Bloomberg Mark Gurman revealed a possible agreement between Apple and Google to bring Gemini to iPhones. However the journalist has now provided further details on the partnerships that the Cupertino company could also start with OpenAI and Anthropic to include AI features in iOS 18.
It has to say that Apple has been developing its Ajax model for a few years. The point here is if the iPhone parent company is considering to ask for help to speed up the launch of AI features with iOS 18. According to Gurman, the Cupertino company has contacted Google, OpenAI and Anthropic to integrate their respective models into the new version of the operating system. The idea would be to use Gemini, GPT or Claude for the chatbot (basically an enhanced version of Siri), while Ajax will manage other activities (in China an agreement with Baidu is possible). But why would Apple ask multiple providers for external support? A possible exclusive partnership with Google would certainly end up under the scrutiny of the authorities. The billion-dollar contract signed for the default search engine is one of the topics covered during the antitrust trial against the Mountain View company (which also pays a significant percentage of advertising revenue).
Interestingly, Apple can leverage generative AI services without having to deal with the huge costs of running models, instead shifting some of that responsibility to its partners. This could open up new monetization opportunities for the company, as well as accelerate the deployment of AI capabilities without having to directly invest in expensive infrastructure.
The other new could be on the support for the Messages app that would significantly improve iPhone users' messaging experience, allowing them to enjoy more advanced and interactive features. Additionally, a refreshed design and more customizable home screen could help maintain user interest and further differentiate the iPhone experience from that of competitors. The 2024 World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) promises to be very interesting, with many expectations for the innovations that Apple will present. It remains to be seen how these new features will be received and how they will influence the future of the smartphone market.

Changes for Google's cryptocurrency advertising policy. A new era of advertising for “Crypto Trusts” is coming with the update of policy that will permit the use of the trusts related to cryptocurrencies. The new policy will take effect on January 29 2024, ahead of the expected approval of Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). That is to say "keep going with advertising, but with a good regulation.
So what will happen by next year is that advertisers will find authorization to insert ads in the United States for "Cryptocurrency Coin Trusts," a category of financial products that allows investors to trade and turn shares into trusts. Those trusts will hold large pools of digital currency. Google has defined these trusts as closed-end funds that invest exclusively in cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin.
The changes are not limited to just the United States but will apply globally to all accounts advertising Cryptocurrency Coin Trusts. The Google's intention is to stem crypto scams. A report from Lloyds Bank, cited by Crypto news, highlighted how a growing number of UK investors have been or are at risk of being scammed by a series of fake adverts posted on social media. The number of cryptocurrency investment scams reported by victims increased by 23%. The most common age range for victims of cryptocurrency scams is 25 to 34, making up a quarter of all cases.

Once upon a time there was "Bard", the Mountain View Company first AI, conceived as ChatGpt's competitor. Now Google is ready to embrace a new AI era and has just presented, on December 6th, a new model of artificial intelligence: Gemini.
Gemini it is capable of interpreting texts, images, audio, video and code. The new language model was announced last summer and now Gemini 1.0 has been released in three different versions, first for the United States market and in 170 countries with English as the only language.
Gemini is set to be "multimodal", which means it is capable of understanding and operating across different types of information. Not only textual, written, but also images, audio, video and code. The second important characteristic is that it is "flexible". Alphabet ecosystem, from DeepMind to Google Research collaborated to create Gemini.
It is known that Google's intention is to bring Gemini into all its products and on all its platforms. Let's list the names of the three versions in which Gemini has been optimized:
Gemini Ultra, is the model with the greatest capabilities and has been perfected to carry out particularly complex tasks. The second, Gemini Pro, is designed for the diversification of tasks. In the end Gemini Nano, is created for on-device tasks and therefore customized to the final user. We doesn't known which of the functions will be free or not. Looking at the bigger picture, there will also be a new Bard version. Bard is now working with online available information, is currently integrated into the search engine and answers users questions.
As the Corriere della Sera reported: "From today Bard will use Gemini Pro and, from next year, Google announces that there will be a new version - Bard Advanced - which will instead be based on Gemini Ultra. For now, Bard continues to only answer questions posed in text form, although in the near future it will also support other modes, including voice".

Since few days, all users can use Duet, Google's artificial intelligence, to create spreadsheets and presentations, but also to obtain a summary of the documents you don't want or time to read.
Montain View's company has in fact just announced the implementation of Duet AI on all its Workspace apps, so it will be available on Gmail, Drive, GDocs and so on. Until recently, over a million people could try out the beta version of this technology, but now that it's out of the testing phase, anyone who pays will be able to benefit from it. Duet AI technology had been announced at the developer conference earlier this year: at the time Google will show how it could be used to transform the structure of a document in GDocs into a presentation, or to create a graph with data from a spreadsheet calculation.
A concrete example of what Duet AI can do is Google Meet. During a video call, the tool can take notes and summarize what was covered during the conversation. In case something has escaped your attention, you can also chat with the bot during the call to find out exactly what was said. Integrations with other Workspace applications make it easy to leverage this information, for example by copying summaries into a Docs file. This particular application, however, will not be available initially: Workspace Labs will support AI Notes in the coming months.
Other examples is the possibility of automatically creating a Slides presentation based on your opening notes. This is somewhat familiar territory for those who are already familiar with the artificial intelligence features of the Microsoft 365 suite. However, one specific feature of Google Meet is at least unique: the "join for me" feature allows users not to participate in a conversation and still convey the information to those who participate. Within Google Chat it is possible to have a direct conversation with a generative AI bot. This functionality also integrates seamlessly with other Workspace apps: for example, those who want to summarize a text from Docs or request a data point from Google Sheets can proceed with the request. In addition to AI-specific innovations, there's also a new interface for Google Chat that includes improved search functionality. Support for chat groups of up to 500,000 participants has been introduced.
Duet AI will also enhance Gmail’s existing smart reply feature allowing users to draft longer, more personalized email replies with a tap. Additionally, Google said it’s working with organizations like Typeface and Jasper to enable marketers to use generative AI to create personalized content in Workspace, along with other partners. Despite Duet AI’s ability to dig into corporate files and emails, Google says customers’ interactions with Duet AI will stay within their organization and their existing workplace protections will remain intact.
However, all this technology is not cheap at all: in fact, Google charges $ 30 per user per month for access, at least for large companies, while the price for small teams has not yet been defined. In any case, it's the same price set by Microsoft for its Copilot, which offers similar AI functions but on Office apps.
he diffusion of generative AI in companies relies heavily on secure data management. Privacy is one of the cornerstones of Google's announcement: the data that organizations enter into Workspace won't go anywhere else and won't be used to train new AI models. End users can try Duet AI with a free trial. Data subjects only need to indicate, in addition to personal data, how many employees the organization in question has and whether it is an existing Workspace customer.

Google launches Bard: the answer against ChatGPT.
Bard is Google’s artificial intelligence chatbot.
It will work like ChatGPT but Bard is based on Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Application.
Sundar Pichai - Google CEO - Bard has just been introduced only for a few users who have to test this new launch.
As reported by S. Pichai, Bard uses information on web to provide high-quality, up-to-date answers.
It can be a tool for creativity and a spring board for curiosity.
Bard will be integrated into the search engine Google Search. Maybe a forced move for Google that wants to defend its leadership.
Google Bard uses the deep learning technology - in particular it uses the Deep Neural Network: it consists of several levels of artificial neurons, which activate in response to the characteristics of the input data.
The new Google’s creation, allows users to create presentations quickly and simply. It could be use to create stories and contents based on photos and videos.
Bard is able to recognize users’ voice and to respond to spoken commands.
One more Bard’s characteristic is that can understand more of 10.000 phrases in more of 20 languages.
Google Bard, once integrated into the search system, will allow to synthesize more complex search queries.
ChatGPT is limited to events through 2021; Bard has access to the latest informations available on web and is able to provide ever more up-to-date information.
Bard will be able to make difficult topics understandable for all, young and adults.
Bard, thanks to Google, can access to massive data collection; ChatGPT has a reduced chance.
An error, but fatal that caused Alphabet to lose 7% - $100B - in the stock market.
During Google’s presentation, the giant carried out an experiment in public to make people understand how the new software works: it involved the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), the largest and most powerful space telescope.
Bard should have been able to explain to a nine-year-old how the telescope works: “The JWST has taken the first ever photos of a planet outside our solar system. These distant worlds are called "exoplanets". Eso means "from the outside”.
Lately, many astronomers they realized that the answer was not correct: here is the fatal error…
The Giant will be able to remedy and overcome the rival?
